Corex Recycling Program Update

4 mins read 28 January 2025
Recycling Program Disruptions

Corex takes great pride on our reduced footprint and have been trail blazers in recycling and reusing plastics for over 20 years, however currently we have a surplus of materials at Corex Recycling.

Whilst we catch up with our current surplus of materials, we need to pause some services. Our plan is to re-access in late February allowing us time to rebalance the mass balance again.

Why we need to change & pause some Corex Recycling services.

Corex Recycling process’s and recycles every kilogram of plastic we receive on site. All of the processed material returned to us have a use within Corex Plastics. In the occasion that Corex Plastics do not have a use to suit the recycled polymer, we will then sell to local plastic manufactures that make products that could be sent back to us for recycling.

Unfortunately, we have a surplus of recycled polymers which we cannot use at Corex Plastics and do not have sufficient external customers with a need to use all the recycled materials that we have acquired at this time. This means that we need to make changes to our recycling programs which are key in supporting our sustainably minded customers and vendors.

Corflute® & PROMEG® customers

Please continue to request your recycling by using the booking form. Completing this form will enable us to manage the recycling process.

Complete form

We will review your form within 24 hours and advise if we are able to take the materials and provide a timeline. Please note that our customers that purchase materials directly from us or via our distributor partners are our priority, and not people who have purchased materials for overseas suppliers.

People with other materials for recycling (e.g. PP, LDPE, HDPE)

We commonly recycle Corflute® and PROMEG® (polypropylene) sheet products that have been purchased from Corex Plastics and Megara. When we have capacity and material requirements, we are happy to take in other PP and PE materials, however we are at capacity currently and are not accepting additional products for recycling at this time.

Our goal is to help everyone where possible, but we can’t accept materials when we have no reuse for them within our business.

What’s next?

We will keep you up to date. Please stay in touch with Corex Recycling by emailing recycling@corex.com.au. You can also contact the team at Corex Plastics hello@corex.com.au

Thank you for your understanding.
