Case study

Sigma Healthcare (Sigma) has the largest pharmacy network in Australia with over 1,200 branded and independent stores. Sigma put out the call to POS display designers and producers to create a long lasting FSDU for multiple brands using locally sourced and sustainable materials. Combining a thorough understanding of creating bespoke retail displays with a strong history formulating sustainable materials for the evolving retail display space in Australia, we had all the credentials for this project.

PROMEG Ecorange® FAQs

New to Corex and Megara and not sure how we work? Here are some answers and some helpful tips for our products!

  • How do Corex and Megara work together?
Corex and Megara joined forces in 2022 with the aim of delivering local customers with an Australian plastic manufacturing and recycling one-stop-shop. Although the two companies remain separate, we come together to share knowledge and services for our customers. Megara makes their own graphic grade polypropylene sheet, PROMEG®. With a beautiful high-end finish and carbon neutral certifications, PROMEG® polypropylene sheet is the material of choice for retail display (POS display), consumer packaging and stationery markets. Read the merger announcement.
  • What is PROMEG®?
PROMEG® is trademarked by Megara Australia. PROMEG® is Australia’s locally made 100% recyclable polypropylene sheet. It has a highly cosmetic finish designed to be screen, digitally or offset printed. PROMEG® is waterproof and durable and can be die-cut to shape making it a great material make packaging, signage and retail display products.
  • Can PROMEG® polypropylene sheets be recycled?
PROMEG® is made from Polypropylene which is 100% recyclable. When your PROMEG® products are ready to retire or if you have post-industrial scrap you want to return, Corex Recycling can recycle and reuse them. Every sheet of PROMEG® is invited to be brought back.
  • Does Polypropylene (PP) or Polyethylene (PE) have the least environmental impact?
Comparing the raw material footprint and environmental impact of PP and PE can be complex and depends on various factors, including the production processes, energy consumption, transportation, and end-of-life management. Life cycle assessments (LCAs) can provide a more detailed analysis of the environmental impact of specific materials or products.
  • Which plastic is easier to recycle: Polypropylene (PP) or Polyethylene (PE)?
Both polypropylene and polyethylene can be recycled, but the ease of recycling may vary depending on the specific formulation and availability of recycling facilities. Polyethylene, especially HDPE, is commonly recycled and has a well-established recycling infrastructure in many areas. However, advancements in recycling technologies have also made polypropylene recycling more feasible in recent decades.
