For almost 20 years, Mediapoint has continued to evolve alongside Australia’s print industry. What began as a small print business has grown into a highly automated trade manufacturing operation supporting hundreds of print resellers across Australia.
While much has changed, Mediapoint’s purpose has remained consistent: helping its trade partners produce print efficiently, reliably and competitively.
Built to support the trade
Rather than competing with print resellers for end clients, Mediapoint positioned itself as a manufacturing partner that resellers could rely on to extend their own production capabilities, including the production of Corflute® signs.
This commitment has shaped the company’s investment in technology and automation. Today, its systems extend across the full production workflow; from online quoting and ordering to artwork processing, production planning, printing, cutting, finishing, packing and dispatch.
According to Mediapoint Sales Manager Jamie Xuereb, the goal is to make outsourcing print as straightforward as possible.
“Our focus has been on building a business that can handle higher volumes without relying on additional manual administration,” Jamie explains. “We want to provide transparent pricing, accurate production lead times and a system that allows jobs to move into production quickly.”
A relationship spanning more than a decade
Mediapoint installed its first flatbed printer in 2012 and has been working with Corex materials ever since.
Over that time, Corflute® has become Mediapoint’s primary fluted plastic sheet for a wide variety of printed signage applications. The company also offers Corflute® eco and Yellow Corflute®, giving its trade customers greater choice according to the application, visual requirements and sustainability priorities of each project.
“We have chosen these products because they combine a strong, recognised brand with reliable print performance and practical environmental options,” Jamie says.
“For our trade customers, that means they can confidently offer a trusted product while also having access to alternatives with recycled content or recycling pathways where these are important to the end client.”
The range allows Mediapoint to respond to different briefs without making its ordering or production processes unnecessarily complicated. Standard Corflute® provides a versatile solution for everyday signage, while Corflute® eco supports projects where recycled content is a priority. Yellow Corflute® offers another distinctive option for applications requiring a specific colour or appearance.
Finding practical solutions for large projects
For Corex, a strong customer relationship means providing more than a standard product range. It also means understanding how materials move through a customer’s production environment and helping to solve practical manufacturing challenges.
This has been particularly important for Mediapoint when managing high-volume projects.
“On some larger jobs, we have needed unique or non-standard sheet sizes to make the project work efficiently,” Jamie says. “Being able to access those sizes quickly has helped us reduce waste, improve production efficiency and keep projects moving without unnecessary delays.”
Custom sheet sizes can help maximise material utilisation while reducing unnecessary cutting and handling. When turnaround times are tight, this flexibility can give printers another way to improve workflow rather than having to fit every project into a standard sheet format.
Sustainability through practical choices
Sustainability has also become an increasingly important part of Mediapoint’s conversations with its customers.
More businesses are asking their print partners to provide environmentally responsible material options and clearer information about recycled content and end-of-life pathways. For Mediapoint, the challenge is to provide these choices while continuing to meet expectations around print quality, reliability and turnaround.
“Sustainability has definitely become a bigger part of the conversation over the past few years,” Jamie says.
“We are also always looking at ways to reduce waste through better production planning, automation and more efficient use of materials. As expectations continue to change, we see recycled and more sustainable material options becoming an increasingly important part of the print industry.”
This practical approach aligns closely with Corex’s focus on Australian manufacturing, material efficiency and creating more circular pathways for genuine Corflute® products.
Continuing to evolve together
Mediapoint’s operation looks very different from the business that began almost two decades ago. However, its underlying purpose remains clear: to invest in the technology, automation and manufacturing capability that help its customers outsource production with confidence.
Corex is proud to have supplied Mediapoint since the installation of its first flatbed printer in 2012. The relationship demonstrates what can be achieved when a local sheet manufacturer and an innovative print business work together – combining reliable materials, production knowledge and flexibility to meet the changing needs of the Australian print industry.
