Overview

What is Cor-Vent®?

Cor-Vent® is a passive roof ventilation system with compliance to Code NCC 2022 ABCB housing Provision Part 10.8.3 & Vol1 F8D5 requirements. It is designed to help create airflow pathways to reduce the risk of moisture and condensation within roof spaces.

Cor-Vent® Range

We offer both low and high level Cor-Vent® products that cater to various roof pitches from 0°~75°.

Which product suits which roof?

This guilde explains the range and when each product is suitable. Read product guide.

Design

Cor-Vent® products are made from Australian made fluted polypropylene board (Corflute®); a robust substrate perfectly suited to roof ventilation requirements.

Design Registered angled cut edge allows airflow when installed under membranes. The open ‘flutes’ improve airflow and helps avoid possible blockage from overlapped sarking.

The Cor-Vent® 8K and 5K products include a 45° cut on both open ends (flute openings). Cor-Vent® 25K product has a 90° cut on both ends.

Installation

Cor-Vent® product installations do not require any special tools, training, or major changes to the roof build. Cor-Vent® Installation Guides are included in the Installation PDF’s above.

Certification

Cor-Vent® products are designed to meet applicable NCC 2022 Deemed-to-Satisfy airflow-opening requirements. Dedicated BAL-rated products are available for applicable bushfire-prone areas.

Corflute® Recycling Program

Giving Every Piece of Cor-Vent® a Purpose

At Corex, sustainability doesn’t end when a product leaves our factory. As the manufacturer of genuine Corflute®, we also operate Australia’s leading Corflute® Recycling Program, providing a dedicated recovery pathway for genuine Corex Corflute® products, including Cor-Vent®.

Designed for long-term performance, Cor-Vent® is intended to remain in place for the life of the roof. However, installation offcuts, surplus material and genuine Corex Corflute® products that reach the end of their useful life can be returned for recycling. The polypropylene material is recovered and reused in the manufacture of new Corex products, helping divert valuable resources from landfill and supporting Australia’s circular economy.

Yes. Cor-Vent® includes solutions specifically designed for low pitch roof applications from 0° to 15°.

  • Does Cor-Vent® stop condensation completely?
No roof ventilation product can guarantee the elimination of condensation under all conditions. Condensation risk depends on multiple factors including building design, climate, insulation, vapour management and airflow balance. Cor-Vent® products are designed to support airflow pathways that may help reduce moisture build-up risk.
  • Does Cor-Vent® support NCC2022 roof ventilation requirements?
Cor-Vent® products are designed to support roof ventilation system design with consideration to NCC 2022 and ABCB housing provision requirements relating to roof space ventilation. Project-specific compliance requirements should always be confirmed by the relevant building professional.

  • Where is Cor-Vent® installed?
Cor-Vent® products are typically installed within roof edge or roof cavity ventilation zones depending on the application and product type. Installation methods may vary depending on roof construction and design.
  • Do I need both low-level and high-level ventilation products?
Many roof systems perform best when airflow can move both into and out of the roof cavity. Low-level ventilation products support intake airflow, while high-level ventilation products can support airflow movement higher within the roof system. System requirements may vary depending on roof design and building conditions.
  • What is the difference between Cor-Vent® 25K, 8K and 5K?
Each Cor-Vent® product is designed for different airflow and roof pitch applications. Generally:

Refer to product guides for specific application recommendations.
  • How do I choose the right Cor-Vent® product?
Cor-Vent® products are designed around different roof pitch ranges and ventilation applications. Product selection typically depends on:
    • roof pitch
    • roof construction
    • ventilation location
    • airflow requirements
    • roof system design
Corex can help guide product selection based on your application.
  • Does every roof need ventilation?

Ventilation requirements can vary depending on roof design, insulation, climate zone, roofing materials and building systems. Many modern roof systems benefit from considered airflow design to support moisture management and roof cavity performance.

  • Can poor roof ventilation cause condensation?

Poor airflow within a roof cavity can contribute to condensation build-up, particularly when warm internal air meets cooler roof surfaces. Balanced ventilation pathways may help reduce this risk.

  • Why is roof ventilation important?

Roof ventilation helps support airflow through roof cavities, which can assist in reducing the build-up of heat, moisture and condensation within the roof space.

  • What does passive roof ventilation mean?

Passive roof ventilation uses natural airflow movement rather than powered fans or mechanical systems. Cor-Vent® products are designed to help air move through the roof cavity using natural pressure and temperature differences.

  • What is Cor-Vent®?

Cor-Vent® is a passive roof ventilation system designed to help create airflow pathways within roof cavities. The range is engineered to support ventilation over fascia, pliable building membrane (sarking) and flashing systems to help reduce the risk of trapped moisture and condensation within roof spaces.
